Broken Strings Robert Tracy Dry-brush Watercolor 17 x 12" 1989
Something my brother made for me. He made some 20 violins before his suicide in 1990. Hence, the title is somewhat personal.
I had uploaded this once before working from a scanned photo of this painting. Now I got access to my original and photographed it. This is much clearer and truer to color.
Wow! This is gorgeous! Your brother's work is amazing! I am just in awe of the realism you can achieve with watercolors.
For some reason, this reminds me especially of the violin I inherited when my uncle died. I don't want to take away from what this work means to you, but it touches me, too. Thanks for sharing your work.
Wonderful! I love watercolors... and you did one amazing work, friend...
Congratulations!

Sors salutis, et virtutis, michi nunc contraria, est affectus, et defectus, semper in angaria. Hac in hora, sine mora, corde pulsum tangite; quod per sortem, sternit fortem, mecum omnes plangite!
Fate opposes me, in vitality, and morality, forced ever onward, burdened, always in shackles. So this very moment, with out tarrying, pluck the quivering strings. Because Fate punishes the one who plays, all lament with me!

Thank you very much. Yes, his wife divorced him for making violins that would sell for only $2000.00 every now and then. Told him to get a full time job. He loved that bitch to the end.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
