Natural? I'll take that as a great compliment from you. I say my talent is natural in that it is self-made.

Thank you.

Yes..self-taught to a certain extent. I doubt if many could have painted that candle...that's natural talent. Dear friend, not many could do what you can do even after years of study and training.

Beautiful!........Shehas such a lovely expression!....She must have had someting of great interest to look at:D
The colours are so rich....and the light makes them look so vibrant!.........and :wow:.......I like the feature of the ponytail ribbon!....and of course your favourite hair with its sweet accentuated tendrils:)

I'm afraid the underpainting is soooo difficult to understand....I read a book about the colours and which to use....it went into my head....and out again:D........I need to do alot of experimenting I think!

Yes, my trademark hair. Thank you.

The underpainting was done in Green Earth. I'd read about some of the Masters' techniques. Green Earth has been a favorite for portraits for a very long time. The value of it is its neutrality. Then one can build upon it with layers of skin tones etc. Titian used as his underpainting black, red and white. There are other variations, such as using for the underpainting pale colors you intend to end with. Or invent your own technique. Here, I was trying Green Earth and have used it with success in many of my portraits. Sure, you go ahead and experiment. Love to see what you come up with.
