It has been fun watching your daughter grow up through your paintings. My kids are my favorite portrait subjects too. It would be fun to know the link of the painting you have posted where she is youngest and where she is the oldest. She must be in her teens by now if the paintings are any indication.
:iconarmoorefam:
Ah, I answered my own question. After I posted that last reply, I linked to your main page here at DA and saw your biography is now posted. LOL

I am glad to see you have now got your paintings available as prints. I am on my way back to your main page to read some more.

Portrait of a Young Girl is Gretchen. She's 37 years old now. I don't know it I can enter HTML in here, so I'll just give you the URL where you can see how she looks now. And her sister, Heather, is there too. Heather is 34. Most of the works I've submitted here are old, done when the girls were young.

But I'll always see them as my little girls. Archy Bunker said in one of the programs of "All in the Family" 'Don't ever say that you're not my little girl.' when his grownup daughter scolded him for calling her his little girl.

I loved the links. It was fun getting to know your family more. Your grown daughters have only become even prettier with time and I bet those grandchildren are the light of their grandpa's eyes.

You have reached here almost absolute photorealism. I think it is a skill not everybody can ever have. Excellent work!
:iconhank1:
Thank you very much.

"...almost absolute photorealism." Yet, you know it isn't and it''s the better for it. It's not even Naturlism. The model was pretty at that time (still is now at 37) but this is not even photographic. She didn't look that way, only to my artist's eye. I simply emphasized aspects--such as the color of the light which is not white. And omitted others. In short the work is stylized in a Romantic Realist touch.

This just blew me away. Especially the hair. . . I have a hard time with hair. I love the lighting too. So wow. . . Just wow.
