An early study with the technique of silverpoint. Yes, the entire page is covered with silver cross-hatchings, some so light it's hard to see even in real life as I look at this. I thought the medium had to be done with the deftest of touch, but not really. You can see the care I took in the flowers to the extent that they're hardly visible, but the cast shadows I just pressed hard into the paper. Still, I recommend using a very light touch until you see it develop.
