Another rare commissioned work. Our daughter, Heather Ayn (now 41, born in 1972) had worked for a title company since she was 17. In 1996 they remodeled their place and wanted a painting to reflect their new style. I was hired, as they knew of my work. The only two requirements were the violet color (part of their new color scheme) and to feature the courthouse in some way, since that's where much of their work was done. I was left free to create the rest. It was accepted and I asked $1200 for it, the highest I'd earned for a painting up to that time. Annie's boss offered $1000., and I took it.

I hope it's obvious that I intended that the old window has old paint that was never scraped off. A title company deals in a part of selling houses. Therefore, looking out the window of an old house the new owner will fix up.

I thought I had commented on this before?
Hmm

Well anyways. I think this is beautiful and your thought out symbolism behind it is marvelous.

I recently bought a house and had seen this during such time. It captured my feelings perfectly.
